132 Custom lockers for Kromme Rijn College in Utrecht
For the Kromme Rijn College in Utrecht, LockerSpecialist delivered 132 steel lockers and mailboxes. The lockers are made entirely to order and integrated into the interior of the school. Thanks to the combination of anthracite lockers, light-wood and terracotta-coloured surrounds, together with large planters, the lockers form a quiet and functional part of the modern school environment.
Fully integrated in the interior
The 102 student lockers are distributed across different locations in the building. Thirty lockers are integrated beside kitchen units with sinks and 72 lockers are integrated under large planters. The compartments have an internal size of about 25 by 25 centimetres and offer space for books, personal belongings and telephones.
Because the lockers were part of the interior design from the beginning, precise measurement was essential. It proved difficult to find a supplier who could handle the entire project. LockerSpecialist therefore managed the advice, measurement, design, production, delivery, installation and coordination with the interior.
Mechanical combination locks without key management
All student lockers are equipped with Digilock Cleo mechanical combination locks. These locks work without batteries or cabling and are easy to operate with a four-digit code. This means that the school has no daily key management and the lockers remain practical and reliable even when used intensively.
A dedicated electronic management key is available for administrators. This allows a locker to be opened when a student has forgotten his or her code.
Mail unit for the staff room
In addition to the student lockers, LockerSpecialist provided a freestanding 30-compartment mail unit for the staff room. The mailboxes are 50 centimetres deep, 25 centimetres wide and 16 centimetres high. Each box is equipped with a separate cylinder lock and a separate key.
