Steel lockers for Royal Printing Company Em. de Jong
For Royal Printing Company Em. de Jong we delivered a complete locker project for the changing rooms of the staff. The printing company produces high-volume retail printing for customers across Europe and has a large workforce. The men’s changing room alone required around 200 lockers. The existing lockers were outdated and no longer met the company’s appearance and practical requirements.
Custom lockers in the company’s visual identity
The brief was clear: no standard lockers in cream or grey, but a solution that fits the identity of the company. That’s why the lockers are designed entirely to order and finished in the distinctive red used in the company’s visual identity. In combination with the black-grey accents of the changing room, this creates a bold, modern interior that immediately stands out. Thanks to the customisation, the lockers could be precisely tailored to the available space and use by employees. This created a clear and representative changing room that fits a modern production company.
Ron Grooten, facility manager at Royal Printing Company Em. de Jong:
It is not a standard cupboard in cream or grey. We wanted the lockers in our own brand colour and we did it. From the first conversation, I felt good. We were able to make clear agreements about planning and implementation, and the result is exactly what we expected.
Practical solution for shoes and order in the changing room
An important focus of the facility manager Ron Grooten was keeping the changing room tidy. In many changing rooms shoes end up on top of the lockers, which quickly looks messy. Therefore, the lockers are placed on a sturdy raised bench frame, allowing employees to easily place their shoes under the lockers. This ensures a tidy appearance and prevents the top of the cabinets from being used as storage.
Two types of lockers for permanent and temporary employees
Different types of lockers have been used within the project. For permanent employees, spacious wardrobe lockers were installed in which clothing and personal items can be easily stored. More compact lockers were installed for temporary employees. This combination creates an efficient layout of the changing room where each employee has a suitable storage space.
